12 Years Old!!

12 years ago, this cute precious boy came into our lives. I can't believe how fast the time has gone by, he has grown so much and has turned into a wonderful, kind, and loving young man.  He hasn't had the easiest life so far.  Being diagnosed with Wilms Tumor cancer at the age of 14 mo., then having his tonsils out at 2 years old, followed by tons of Dr visits and a speach impediment.  He has struggled, but always with a smile on his face.  We are so happy to be able to celebrate such a wonderful day with him!!! Here are a few pictures of him growing up.  He was such a cutie (and still is, in moms opinion)

For Austins birthday, we spent the day as a family.  We're really not into friend parties, and would much rather put the money towards gifts that we know he wants, so we just have a special day where he is spoiled by us.  Austin loves Star Wars Lego's, so that is always at the top of his birthday wish list.  So that's pretty much what he got.  Dad did surprise him with a new Oakley backpack for the up coming school year, and Austin was thrilled!

At the age of 12, Austin is old enough to get the priesthood.  We were so proud of him at his choice to receive this special gift, and for choosing to live the commandments.  We are so proud of you Austin, and you look mighty fine in your new white shirt and tie.  We love you so much, Happy Birthday!!!
