GO DEMOLITION!!!!
Maddy & Shelby (softball buddies)
Madison tried out for the All-star team and made it! She is playing with 13 of the best 14U softball players in HGSA. We are so proud of her for taking the time and committing her summer to have this wonderful opportunity. Here are a few pictures of her in action.
The girls got a long pretty good, for the most part. I think it can be hard when they put girls together on a team that have been competing against each other all season, but the girls seemed to mesh pretty well. Maddy was able to make some new friends, and got a long with most of the team. She had some great coaches, 2 of which coached her during the regular season. The other 2 she got along well with, and was able to pick up some tips on bettering her game.
The team ended up taking 2nd place at State, and qualified to got to Nationals. They worked so hard and it was so fun to see them do so well. They however did not got to Nationals, (which would have been held in Spokane, Washington) due to parents not wanting to commit time and money, (they would have needed to raise about $20,000) and it didn't help that the head coach was thrown in jail. Yeah, that was exciting!!!
Now that it is over, I have to say that it was a great experience for Maddy. She worked hard, sacrificed family outings, church activities, her summer, and even though the season ended on a sour note, it is something that she will never forget. We are so proud of you Maddy!!!!
