Spring has sprung and so has softball season. Maddy and Ally are both playing fast pitch this spring, and they both had their first official games yesterday. Allysons game was in the morning, and Maddy had a double header, so we'll just say it was an all day event at the ball park. Luckily it was a nice day, and there were plenty of kids for Austin and Logan to run around and play with. And of course, we packed a ton of snacks to keep their tummies satisfied.
Allyson is on a T-ball/Coach pitch team. Her team is the Angels, and her cousin McKenzie is on the team with her (an added bonus). Allyson is having so much fun, and is learning a lot about softball. This is the fun age where everyone hits each inning, and plays out on the field. Allyson is very fast when she runs around the bases, and she can hit the ball pretty far. Here are a few of the photo's that I took of her at her first game.

Madison is a Rivercat, she is loving softball this year, and has a wonderful coach and teammates. Her coach is not afraid to criticise the girls, yet she always praises them on their success. She has been a wonderful coach for Maddy. She is very strict in how her practices and games are ran. Once the girls enter the park, they are her girls, and the parents are not to interfere. We are not allowed to talk to the girls during the game or practices. She is in charge!! I was very impressed at Maddys first game. Before the game started, I went over to take a picture of Maddy (something I got a dirty look for, but hey, they weren't in the dugout yet), anyway her coach informed me that Maddy would be starting on 1st base. I was a little surprised, because Maddy hasn't even practiced playing that position, yet her coach was starting her out there. That showed me that her coach knew how much talent and ability Maddy had to be able to step in and play a base that she had never played before. I am pleased to report that Maddy was AWESOME!! She got the first 2 outs of the game. One was a throw from the 3rd baseman to her base, and the other was a pop fly that she caught.

It was a fun day watching the girls play. The girls are full of so much energy, and they cheer and chant the entire game. It is such a blast. Grandpa & Grandma came to support the girls, as well as Jesse & Amanda with their kids (thanks guy's I know you had a long day tooooo!!) I can't wait for the next softball game. There's just something wonderful about sitting at a ball park eating hot dogs, peanuts, and sunflower seeds, and watching a ball game.

They thought that was pretty cool!!
Grandma's so talented. We love her!!
So, if your ever bored on a Saturday afternoon, come join us at the ball park.

That looks like so much fun! Good for Madison that her couch recognizes her awesome talent. The Stewart girls are a force to be reckoned with!
