Another school year is back in session. And the first day went down with out to many glitches. The kids were all very excited to meet their new teacher's, and see if any of their old friends and classmates from last year would be in their class this year.
Stylin Madison-- 6th Grade
1st day outfit. Great choice
1st day outfit. Great choice
To our dismay, Maddy has now entered Jr. High. This is really freaking mom and dad out, but she loves it. She says that it is so much better than Elementary school. Her favorite subject after the first day is Science. 6th grade does not offer a lot of class choices, so she is currently enrolled in the basics. Her one elective is Choir, which we had to talk her into. She wanted to take band, but we just had a really bad feeling about it, and was very worried that she would not like it, so we convinced her that Choir would be a better choice. I think she now agrees, and is really going to like it. The school choir has won a number of awards in the 4 years the school has been open, so I know that it is an excellent program. Maddy has a lot of friend in her classes, and she loves that her school mascot is "The Mustang's".

Cool Austin-- 4th Grade
Love the yellow shirt!!
Excited to be one of the older kids on the bus.
Austin's day went semi well. He was very excited about his new teacher's. He already knew his English teacher, because he is married to his teacher from last year. Austin really likes Mr. Doxtator, he says that he is really fun, and really good at sports. Austin said that his Spanish teacher Ms. Ramirez is just a normal Spanish teacher. But that she was nice. That's Austin for ya. Austin had a bit of a mix up this morning, I gave Austin his room number's. The kids are suppose to line up outside on their dot's according to their room number's. Well his room number's were 58 & 57. When he got there, there was no #58, so the teacher told him the whole class could line up on #57. Well to make a long story short, he went with Mr. Doxtator instead of Ms. Ramirez, and for some reason the teacher's didn't catch it, until the office called me to see why Austin wasn't at school. It all worked out in the end. Thank goodness.

Sweet Allyson-- 1st Grade
Super Cute in Pink!!
Very Excited to sit by her good friend Sarah on the bus!!
Allyson was very nervous, but excited for 1st grade. After sending her on the bus, I then had to follow the bus to the school, so I could walk her to her dot. She was very scared, and started to cry, but I made her look around to see how many kids she knew from kindergarten, and after seeing her old friends, that seemed to calm her nerves. She was chosen to be the line leader, and was the teacher's helper all day. She felt pretty special. She enjoyed coloring, writing her number's, and her name. Allyson says that both of her teacher's are very nice.
I am happy to have another year started. I can't believe how fast the time is flying by. Before I know it, Logan will be starting Kindergarten, and I won't have anyone to share my day with. I am very excited for back to school night, when I can meet the kids new teachers. It should be a very exciting and fun year.

The kids look so cute! I always remember the first day of school. It was so exciting and nerve racking. I'm glad I have another year to go!
Oh to go back to the first day of school again! Most of my back to school memories include you clear back to 2nd grade. Remember the 4th grade in Miss Chidester's class? For some reason that year really stands out.
Kids looked sharp on their first day. It's hard to say good bye to summer. Our kids went back today--I miss them already!
I am still so surprised that school is starting. It seems so soon! If we have a girl, her name will be Madison. I love that name. Your kids are so cute!
