HGSA Opening Ceremonies

It's that time again... Softball season is here.

Every year the season starts off with an opening ceremony. The teams are asked to make a banner, and then they get to show off the banner as they parade onto the field. It's a lot of fun for the girls. HGSA is celebrating their 20th anniversary, so they had a day filled with games, music, and yummy food.

The girls were so excited to start playing again. There are a lot of changes this year. Allyson is old enough to play on 10U, and was able to stay with her same team. She has the best coaches, and the only thing they changed was the team name. They are now the Athletics. Ally is excited but nervous to play in the next age up. This age group is girl pitch. They are allowed to steal bases, and there is an umpire. Allyson is still learning how to pitch, and hopefully will get to pitch a few innings this year. Let's hear it for the A's!!!!

Here is Allyson & Isabelle
Her best friend on the team

Maddy's new team is the Reds. She is now playing 14U, something she was really nervous about. She is playing with her good friend Shelby. They have been playing together for the past few years, so it was good to have a friend on her team. Shelby's dad is the coach, and Jeremy and I have signed up to assist him. We are very nervous, because we have never coached softball before, so it will be a learning season for us. We are so excited to see the girls play. We have a great team, the girls are so cute and fun, so it should be a good season. Go REDS!!!!
